Share your Tuesday mornings with Telling Tales this summer!

If you haven’t heard yet, Hamilton is in full swing celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday. Hamilton is proud to feature the Quilt of Belonging exhibit; Peace by Piece: Stitching Together Canadian Stories at the Cotton Factory. Presented by The Heart of Ontario, the exhibition showcases the richness of Canada’s history through interactive programs, workshops, displays, concerts and more. Running from July 10th until August 16th, it is a 120-foot textile art project with 263 blocks stitched together; each recognizing Canada’s diversity.

Our friends over at Telling Tales have joined the festivities by offering Telling Tales Tuesdays Series programming promoting interactive literacy activities. Each Tuesday from July 11th to August 15th between 10am-noon, join talented Canadian authors, illustrators, and storytellers, as they engage children of all ages with Canadian stories and activities. Admission and parking is FREE!

Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Caregivers … get out of the house and plan to attend one, two, or all six presentations … take a break from the sun.

The Creative Theatre Company kicks off the first session of the series on Tuesday, July 11th, where they’ll be hosting interactive theatre games for everyone to join in. For the little actor/actress in your household, you don’t want to miss this.

On Tuesday, August 1st, join Derek Douglas, a local illustrator from the Dundas area (who also designed the official illustration for September’s 9th Annual Telling Tales Festival). He’ll be holding an interactive session demonstrating all the fun wonders of learning children’s art.
