Each year, Telling Tales commissions a children’s illustrator to develop the creative overall look for its annual festival (from their website, program, app, posters and all their marketing materials).

This year, the organizers approached Jeremy Tankard. Jeremy is the author and illustrator of three very silly picture books: Grumpy Bird, Boo Hoo Bird and Me Hungry. With his older kid appeal, use of vibrant colours and emphasis that books can take you anywhere – he was the chosen one! The festival’s official header below, that’s him … he designed the bright look and feel for this year’s theme.

As an added bonus, Jeremy will be attending the festival this Fall. So, make sure to come meet him, listen to his presentation, find out what inspires him to create, and even get his autograph!
